There are few moments more valuable than when a consumer walks into a grocery store with a shopping list in hand and a purchase already in their mind. At that point, awareness can become consideration, consideration can become preference, and preference can become a product in the cart.

Turning Shopper Intent Into Brand Opportunity

That is the opportunity behind Screenverse’s partnership with Retail Visions, a digital out-of-home (DOOH) network transforming independent retailers into high-impact environments through strategically positioned screens designed to command attention throughout the grocery shopping experience. Independent grocers represent a significant share of the U.S. food retail landscape, accounting for 38.4% of U.S. food retail sales. The network brings more than 1,500 grocery screens and over 200 million monthly impressions to the Screenverse OOH portfolio across 98 DMAs nationwide.

“For independent grocers, ad dollars have traditionally flowed to the big chains. Our partnership with Screenverse helps change that,” said Mark Wilkins, Chief Executive Officer of Retail Visions. “By connecting Retail Visions’ network of in-store and street-facing window screens to Screenverse’s programmatic DOOH platform, independent grocers can tap into the same national advertiser demand as major retailers. In turn, every screen becomes an opportunity to generate new revenue and drive foot traffic - all with zero capital investment.”

“Grocery is the last mile of the CPG funnel, where brand messaging has the opportunity to translate directly into action,” said Jonathan LaConti, Senior Vice President of Sales at Screenverse. “Every shopper walking into the store represents an opportunity for a brand to influence a purchase decision or win a new customer. Through this partnership, we’re making those valuable moments accessible to advertisers programmatically and at scale, creating a powerful new way for CPG brands to connect media exposure more closely to real-world outcomes.”

Highly sought-after DMAs include New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, and Miami. For CPG advertisers in particular, the network creates a powerful opportunity to reach shoppers not just when they’re thinking about what to buy, but when they’re actively deciding. With U.S. households making an average of 2.8 grocery trips per week and spending $169 on groceries per week, the grocery environment provides brands with frequent opportunities to connect with consumers amid meaningful household spending. High-brightness digital displays ranging from 45”-65” create bold, visible brand moments on the exterior windows of grocery entrances and inside grocery stores, supporting 1080x1920 and 1920x1080 formats.

This combination of placement, visibility, and scale enables brands to appear in a context that naturally complements CPG advertising. The result is a media experience uniquely aligned with that consumer intent. Instead of separating media exposure from the transaction, Retail Visions brings the two closer together.

Connecting DOOH to Real-World Outcomes

Beyond delivering reach and visibility, Retail Visions has demonstrated its impact and what happens after an ad is seen in-store at its venues. With access to first-party retailer SKU-level POS data, Retail Visions has proven a campaign’s in-store sales performance, providing advertisers with a clearer view of how media exposure corresponds with purchasing behavior. Previous campaigns across the network have shown meaningful results, with a campaign for a national cooking oil brand driving a 44.9% incremental in-store sales lift during the campaign period compared with the previous 16-week average. In another campaign, a global pasta brand saw a 19% sales lift, measured using retailer POS data.

For CPG advertisers, this ability to understand Retail Visions' impact on purchasing behavior adds an important layer to the network. Advertisers can move beyond impressions to better understand how campaigns perform in the environments where products are being purchased.

Looking Ahead: Expanding the Screenverse and Retail Visions Footprint

The launch of Retail Visions’ grocery inventory marks the beginning of a larger opportunity within the partnership. In the coming weeks, Retail Visions will onboard an additional 3,200+ screens across DOOH venue types including urban panels, gyms, point-of-care offices, salons, hotels, and more, expanding programmatic access beyond grocery stores and into high-traffic urban environments and broader retail settings.

Available Now Programmatically Across Leading Platforms

Through Screenverse, Retail Visions’ grocery inventory is now available programmatically across Vistar Media, Place Exchange by Broadsign, and Perion (formerly Hivestack), making it easy for advertisers to incorporate these high-intent grocery environments into existing programmatic DOOH strategies.

Together, Screenverse and Retail Visions offer brands even more ways to build campaigns across distinct consumer touchpoints from neighborhood streets to places they gather and socialize, and where everyday purchases happen.
